Always wanted to start your own garden plants, but not sure how to begin, lack space to set up grow-lights and plant flats, or just plain forget to plant the seeds? Wintersowing may be the perfect solution!

Our first workshop for grown-ups in the New Year is Wintersowing with Robbin Arnold at Bowman Library on January 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Wintersowing is an extremely simple, cost-effective method of starting garden plants and lets gardeners extend the growing season.

A member of the American Horticultural Society and trained as an Extension Master Gardener, Robbin has been gardening since her childhood in Ohio. She has been part of the community garden at Blandy Farm for 8 years and works at Blandy as a part time visitor guide. Robbin notes, “I love to cook, can, dry, and eat what I grow!”

All supplies provided for the first 10 workshop registrants. Registration required through the library calendar and the program is suitable for gardeners and wannabes of all experience.

Feel free to bring favorite seeds to share and trade!
